Department of Neurology

INTRODUCTION

Neurology unit is running in MLB medical college since 2009. Separate Department of Neurology is established  after inauguration of Superspeciality block in 2019. This is only superspeciality teaching Neurology department in Bundelkhand region of central India. Since its inception, department of Neurology is progressing by leaps and bounds. Department of Neurology has one units consists of professor, associate Professor,  assistant Professor and Post DM Senior resident. DM Neurology course is started in 2024 with 5 seats of DM neurology. Department of Neurology is running daily OPD with average attendance of 5000 Patients Per month. Sub speciality OPD of movement disorder and epilepsy is scheduled twice a week. Botox clinic is conducted once a month . In Patient Department has average admission of 300 Patients Per month. Neuro electrophysiology lab  has  EEG, EMG NCV machines. Facility of Transcranial magnetic stimulation machine is also available in department. ICMR funded research project on stroke along with number of  other research projects  and postgraduate thesis work are going on in neurology department.  During last 4 years more than 25 Publications are published in national and international Journals.

Botox Clinic

Maharani Laxmibai Medical College, Jhansi is conducting a Botox Clinic. This dedicated clinic is meant to provide Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injections for the management of various neurological disorders, including dystonia, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, spasticity, and allied conditions. Maharani Laxmibai Medical College, Jhansi, is the first state medical college after King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, to offer this specialized service. This is landmark achievements for benefit of patient of these diseases in region of Bundelkhand.
