Department of Nephrology
INTRODUCTION
The department of nephrology provides care to patients suffering from kidney disease. The department is located at PMSSY building. It has OPD at the ground floor and IPD & Dialysis unit at the first floor.
The OPD provides care to 400 patients in a month. The bed occupancy rate remains above 80% throughout the year. State of the art Dialysis unit is proud to provide Dialysis to around 250-300 patients in a month. Government schemes like Asadhya Rogi, Ayushman Yojana, CM relief fund, etc help patients avail the kidney care free of cost.
HD catheter insertions (both temporary and permanent) and kidney biopsy are done with the help of Ultrasound guidance available in the department.
The department also boasts of reviving the forgotten art of peritoneal dialysis and has substantial number of patients who are on CAPD and are given PD fluids free of cost under eligible government health schemes.
