CME cum Scientific Exhibition on Drug Safety
The Department of Pharmacology, Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College ,Jhansi for the first time has holded and successfully conducted the MLBMC XPOT 2026 ( eXtended Pharmacovigilance orientation and training ) programme, a CME cum Scientific Exhibition on “Drug Menace: Causing Mild to Severe Adverse drug Reactions”, on 17th March 2026 at college auditorium.
The programme was organized by the Pharmacovigilance Unit ,the Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre (ADRMC), with the support of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Government of India.
This was the first-ever event of its kind organized at the institution, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of the college. The programme aimed to enhance awareness regarding drug safety, adverse drug reactions, and rational use of medicines, while promoting academic interaction and scientific temperament among participants.
The CME and exhibition featured expert lectures, scientific sessions, and a wide array of exhibits, focusing on various aspects of pharmacovigilance and drug-related challenges. The event witnessed active participation from faculty members, healthcare professionals, and students, making it a platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Coordinator ( PVPI) and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Dr. Mani Goel, along with the Deputy Coordinator Dr. Neeraj Srivastava (Head, Skin & VD). The event was successfully carried out under the visionary leadership of the Principal, (prof.) Dr. Sheo Kumar.
The program was graced by the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Bundelkhand University, Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Pandey, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was further honored by the presence of distinguished guest and guest faculty Dr. Sadhana Kaushik, along with Dr. Hitesh Mishra from IGIMS, Patna.
On this occasion, scientific lectures were delivered by various experts and were chaired by eminent professors. The speakers included Dr. Kuldeep Chandel, Dr. Omshankar Chaurasia, Dr. Pallavi Agrawal, Dr. Namita Srivastava, Dr. Madhurmay, and Mr. Vinay Kumar, who presented their respective topics.
In the end, students were encouraged and recognized for their projects by being awarded medals, trophies, and certificates from Vice Principal and Dean academics.
