Dr. S.K Verman (Batch of 1975)

It is with immense pride and deep nostalgia that I look back at my alma mater where I was groomed fifty years ago into the professional and person I am today.
I spent ten wonderful years…1975 to 1985 at my alma mater —i came here as an ordinary student, full of dreams and walked out as Orthopaedic Surgeon. I did my MBBS, D.Orth and MS ( Orthopaedics) from here.
I have witnessed this structure rising from its very foundation; I have seen my alma mater touching heights of excellence.
I still remember entering this medical college in 1975 through gate no 1 with my parents, carrying an ocean of dreams, unaware of a beautiful journey that awaited me.
We were unshaped figures of clay then…. raw, uncertain, unpolished. It was our teachers who moulded us, shaped us, disciplined us and refined us with patience and firmness, until we were worthy of standing in society with dignity and pride.
The academic environment was vibrant and intellectually stimulating. The teacher taught relationship was excellent. Teachers treated us as their family members.
Their bedside teachings, long ward rounds, clinical acumen shaped our understanding of medicine in the most enduring way.
It is the largest campus amongst medical colleges in Asia. It boasts one of the finest auditoriums, where I had the privilege of performing in many plays and skits. I was elected secretary of Socio Cultural Society and Anatomical Society. Our college stood first in cultural events for 3 consecutive years from 1977 in annual State Inter Medical Colleges Cultural Competition “Medifest” held at KGMC Lucknow.
Every year, I return to my medical college. I bow my head to its soil, place its dust upon my forehead, and meet my teachers with the same reverence I carried as a student.
It is my heartfelt wish that in every lifetime, I may return as a student of this very medical college and remain forever at the feet of my teachers, devoted and blessed by their guidance.
For me, this institution is not merely a place of learning , it is an emotion, a blessing and a lifelong identity.

Dr. Preeti Jain (Batch of 1994)

If life is a series of films, then my time at MLBMC Jhansi was my breakout role. My years at the college, along with the experiences it gave me, culminated in my current position as the owner of a pathology lab in Agra. MLBMC is a place that helped me cultivate my interests and hone my skills. The campus was built to nurture students—and it truly did.
I am immensely grateful for the friendships I formed there and for the mentors who provided me with guidance as well as opportunities. I would be remiss if I did not mention that I met my husband, Dr. Shailendra Jain, during my time at the college. It is a beautiful coincidence that my daughter also completed her MBBS there.
MLBMC was the place where I first experimented with a microscope, and it is precisely because of my college that using one now feels like muscle memory. I truly understood what it meant to be a medical professional while working long, late-night shifts and assisting patients during difficult times. I discovered my potential there, and MLBMC’s landscape served as the perfect environment in which I could shape my career.

Dr. Manish Mahajan (Batch of 1999)

My time at MLB Medical College Jhansi laid the unbreakable foundation for my 17 year career in pharmaceuticals, culminating in my current role as Medical Affairs Leader at a multinational pharmaceutical organizations.
The college’s rigorous curriculum in clinical pharmacology, pathology, and evidence-based medicine equipped me with the scientific rigor essential for evaluating drug pipelines, designing clinical trials, and interpreting complex data on metabolic diseases like MASLD. Rotations honed my skills in patient-centric care and stakeholder communication—skills I now apply daily in medical strategy, KOL engagements, and regulatory submissions.
What set MLB MC apart was its emphasis on ethical practice and interdisciplinary thinking, preparing me to navigate pharma’s dynamic landscape from clinical research. I’m deeply grateful for the lifelong network of mentors and peers that continues to fuel my success.
Today, every strategic decision I make echoes the excellence instilled here—proving MLB MC doesn’t just train doctors; it builds leaders in healthcare.

Dr. Shalini Diwakar (Batch of 2016)

”MLB gave me more than a degree; it gave me the scalpel of a surgeon and the heart of an artist, turning my early curiosity into a lifelong vision of healing.”
My journey at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College has been a profound evolution,I feel a deep sense of pride. Our expansive, green campus wasn’t just a place of study; it was a canvas for growth. Our sprawling campus is more than just an academic center; it wasn’t just an institution; it was a trial by fire that shaped my clinical DNA,
The foundation of my medical career was laid in the rigorous atmosphere of our college labs. I still remember the reverence of the dissection hall—the first time holding a scalpel and the invaluable lessons learned from our cadavers. ——sparked my initial fascination with surgery. This practical grit was matched by the intellectual challenge of our Microbiology seminars and the precision required in our Pathology practicals. As I progressed into my clinical postings, the true essence of medicine came to life. Whether it was the high-stakes decision-making in Medicine, the life-changing procedures in Surgery, the delicate care in Gynaecology, or the compassionate environment of Paediatrics, each rotation added a new layer to my competence. Serving the diverse and resilient patient population of the Bundelkhand region provided a clinical volume and variety that no textbook could ever replicate, while our frequent field visits gave me a grounded perspective on community healthcare.
However, life at MLB is not confined to the wards and laboratories. Our college is a place that celebrates every facet of a student’s personality, offering a sense of liberty to explore our passions beyond medicine. I felt this most deeply when I was encouraged to create a massive Rani Laxmi Bai rangoli on campus. The overwhelming praise I received from the faculty and my peers for that work of art made me realize that this institution doesn’t just produce doctors; it nurtures individuals. This spirit of joy and community reaches its peak during our Annual Fest, a time when the entire campus comes alive, showcasing the incredible talents that flourish within our walls.
It was here, amidst the perfect balance of intense academics and creative freedom, that my vision of becoming a surgeon was forged. MLB Medical College has a unique way of identifying hidden talents and enhancing them, ensuring that we graduate not just as clinicians, but as well-rounded human beings.I am proud to be a ‘MLBian’ and carry the resilience and skills I learned in those wards into my practice every day.” I am immensely proud to be a part of this legacy, where every achievement—whether in the Operating Theater or on a canvas—is met with encouragement and pride.
